15 Yards For Personal Foul

I have spent many Friday nights this year watching high school football and one of my favorite penalties is personal foul. It is always some testosterone laden maneuver that ends up with a 15 yard loss and replay of down. I always comment that someone will be doing whistle sprints until they puke and wait to see if they can recover the yardage. Well, both of our federal houses in Congress introduced legislation this week that amounts to a massive personal foul for the citizens of America: Enforced insurance coverage for any one residing in America. I can't wait to see how this turns out.

The scenario I am picturing is someone arriving at the hospital who does not have a private or government plan. They request medical care say for a heart attack or car accident only to have the police arrive and arrest them. As they are carted off to jail, they either expire or permanent injury. If they survive to trial, they are fined and put in jail as serious lawbreakers. All this for the crime of practicing the freedoms that are guaranteed in the United States Constitution.

Now I know that arresting people for not having insurance is ludicrous. After all, the Obama just declared that marijuana was all but legal. His administration has not lived up to any of their promises of transparency in government. It is all rush to enforce their liberal agenda with closed door secrecy. Now they are pushing to send our country into an unrecoverable tail spin by socializing a sizable chunk of our economy and running it like any government agency runs a business; into the ground. If there are any doctors left in the country after this is done, they will not be of the medical kind.

Not Cool
