A Cacophony of Sycophants

What would make the Washington elite give up their life of leisure and excess to support a health care bill that no one wants? The Democrats in Congress are risking expulsion from their Eden to create a piece of legislation that does nothing to improve the nation’s health care system. It is no longer the pursuit of a lifelong position in the laps of the rich and powerful that are driving these band of career politicians. What can be driving this push to their potential legislative executions?

It can’t possibly be their love of our fearless leader. Barack Obama does not have the leadership skills to forge that kind of endearing commitment to himself or his pet causes. He is little more than a wet behind the ears, first term Senator that found himself in the right place in history at the wrong time for the country. His mantra of hope and change has done little to inspire any change in America and his politics as usual are raising a few eye brows from those who expected a new and improved transparency promised by our leader.

So what is causing this march of the lemmings by our nation’s legislators? If it is not the cult of personality or the fear of expulsion from paradise, it can only be that they truly believe that they are doing the right thing. Of all the reasons for this steaming health care turd to still be alive, that would be the last reason I would expect. After all, the elected elite appear to only be out for themselves. If something does not affect the improvement of their fortunes, they do not support it. The unwashed masses are just too bloody stupid to know what is best for them. At least we can still vote them in and out. Not much of a weapon but neither was the pen that wrote the Declaration of Independence.
