Finally A Duet
In an unprecedented refrain from name calling and finger pointing, the DMB (that is drive by media or 'dumb' take your pick) has actually published a coherent article about former Vice President Dick Cheney. Mr. Cheney appeared on Face The Nation which if I read the article correctly is a Sunday morning liberal discussion group that sometimes invites conservatives into the mix for kicks and giggles. Mr. Cheney spent his time exposing professed Republican Colin Powell, a 1st Gulf War Hero and Secretary of State under Bush 2 as a liberal and want to be Democrat. Deny as he tries, Powell has demonstrated through his support of Obama for President that he is not part of the Republican landscape.
Vice President Cheney voiced his support for Rush Limbaugh as the voice of conservative America and the Republican party. He said that Powell's desire to bring Republicans to the center to encompass a greater majority of minority voters has done just the opposite. It has watered down the message of smaller government which is one of the core conservative beliefs. Conservatives win when they stick to their principles, not try to reach over the fence and be something they are not.
So, we have Rush and Mr. Cheney setting the truth in front of America. Somehow, it seems like a moth in a hurricane but at least, for once, we have an article that does not call Cheney the former CEO of a major corporation that is profiting from the Iraq War or the one pulling the strings for George Bush.
On a different note, I heard the following quip on Boston Legal yesterday. A Democrat is someone that finds a topic, spends all of their time sniping and grousing about how bad it is but never offers a solution. At least one that allows for those affected to be responsible for the outcome.
